The Colmbus Blues Challenge is the annual competition to held to select the acts - one band and one solo/duo - that will represent the Columbus Blues Alliance at the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.The 2011 International Blues Challenge will take place February 1-5, 2011.

In 2007, Columbus' own Sean Carney Band, representing the Columbus Blues Alliance placed first in the band finals at the Orpheum Theater. Sean also won the coveted Albert King Award, presented to the most promising guitarist. Who's to say the next IBC winner won't come from Columbus?
